lyrics

I feel good and I'm not too sure what it's all about.
I better stop thinkin' before I find answers, situations, scenes, and doubt.
She told me not to worry, 'cuz it will all fall in place.
I somehow couldn't believe her when I saw the look on her face.

The dusty road we travel down sometimes seems dark and strange.
You never know the good from the bad without difference or change.
She smiled sweetly and softly, walked through and out the door.
It's hard to believe what once you had just ain't there anymore.

We were almost there, I could see it clear right in front of my eyes.
The bad went to worse. I felt lost and cursed; tangled up in lies.
I felt unkind in the back of my mind and all became withdrawn.
Some can't see what others need, strength and courage gone.

Summer's almost here; I can fell it near, just like years ago.
Where it went and who were are now, I will never know.
I remember one evening by a riverbed watching the sun and waves.
I gave it my all and started to fall now neither of us are the same.

I flew to other countries; I flew to other states.
I've been trying, somehow, to get bak to her, but I always arrive too late.
I was out one night at a restaurant with a couple old friends of mine.
There was something he said that stuck in my head "Our lives are nothing in time."

So, I thought of her and eternity, and how it all fades behind.
There was nothing I could do, so I lit a smoke and ordered a glass of wine.
I saw here one night in the city, she was wearing a silver dress.
We said hello and my mind felt slow, then I had to confess.

I told her I was lonely; she told me of experience.
She said she's been wed, my face turned red, and I haven't seen her since.
Now I'm spending my days in a haze, playing a broken guitar.
Trying to put it all together, but I never get too far.
